imma just come out & say it 🫒

Hey, hi, hello!

If you haven't read this week's Email Paradise (EP), you miiiiight be a lil out of the loop (go read it!!!!) but I'm starting something new where I share a creative writing prompt once a week and then share the psychology behind it!

It'll be 2 separate sends because 1) I want you to DO the prompt first!! but also 2) EP is already pretty long, so I didn't want to overload you with too much info in one day.

Reminder of this week's prompt in case you haven't done it yet:

Set a 10-minute timer, and write whatever comes to mind -- even if it's completely off the main topic -- using one of these prompts:

1. What's 1 thing someone doesn't know about you from what you share publically?

2. How does this coming up July 4th holiday / America's 250th anniversay make you feel?
3, Why do you think analog activities are a huge trend right now?

And now for the Psych Behind It πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

  1. Timed freewriting removes the editor. It's short enough that your perfectionism voice won't show up, but enough time that you get through the first 2-3 minutes of "throat clearing" that tends to be more performative & safe when we write. Learn more here!
  2. Protects the Tangents. A lot of writing prompts often unintentionally "punish" tangents and want you to stay on ONE specific topic, which can feel restraining. This challenge protects them, signaling to your brain that wandering off topic isn't failure. Often times, our BEST, richest perspectives come from going off on a tangent.

  3. Making it searchable later changes what gets written. Knowing this isn't just a one-off journal entry but a future-retrievable text means you'll have raw data to show how your voice appears in writing. It's useful when you need to share examples with a marketing team or come up with content ideas you're passionate about.

  4. Why this works for someone monetizing voice specifically: unedited timed writing is closer to how you actually think than anything you'd write with an audience in mind. That's exactly the texture that's hard to fake later and easy to mine for the parenthetical asides, the dry asides, the actual rhythm of your sentences when nobody's grading them.

Ultimately, this works because unedited, TIMED writing is closer to how you truly think than what you'd write when you KNOW it's meant for marketing materials.

You truly cannot fake your voice when there's no pressure. This can become an invaluable creative writing practice -- it's one I do ALL the time, and it's what leaves me feeling the most inspired lately!

Instead of scrolling to read other people's thoughts, perspectives, and ideas (which are also crucial, don't get me wrong), this allows you to see what YOU truly think. And how you talk about topics.

Plus... imma just come out & say it: it helps you learn to trust yourself more. AI psychosis is REAL and can also lead to insecurity in our own instincts.

Regular writing practices, even if it's only 10 mins a week, help build the muscle so you can show up and sell better because you know YOUR voice better.

Would love to know if you tried this out, and if you want to share what came up, I'd LOVE to read it! <3

Catch ya on the next wave,

I plan to add more to the sales page once I get my brand photos (πŸ‘€πŸ‘€) back from my photog I'm planning on renaming the offers. I didn't think I needed to originally, but they're a bit more different than I realized. The local businesses subpage isn't ready yet 🫣 Nor is the streamlined Dubsado workflow 🫣 LOOOOOKKK, I ran into some...

Hey, hi, hello! If you haven't read this week's Email Paradise (EP), you miiiiight be a lil out of the loop (go read it!!!!) but this is the fourth (!!!) edition of a bonus add-on where I share the psych behind the creative writing prompt shared earlier in the week. Reminder of this week's prompt in case you haven't done it yet: Pull up a page on your website or a recent social media post and see where you can add more visual and descriptive language into it. Don't overthink it! This is for...

Edition #148 July 14th, 2026 Womp, womp, womp. 90% of the 4-part sales page for Dead Reckoning has been finished, but unfortunately, I underestimated how much time it was gonna take me to finish πŸ˜† But I am suuuuuper proud of how it's all coming together so far!! So here's a couple of my favorite lines: For e-comm founders: "The most successful e-commerce founders are often trapped in operational tasks and simply don’t have the time to build the personal brand authority they know they need to...
