I don't talk about it often because I don't enjoy the pity that runs rampant across people's faces when I mention it, but I have chronic pain.
Diagnosed at 18 and, unfortunately, gotten worse over the years because of a really bad car accident that should have killed me in 2023. Every day I wake up in pain.
I do my errands in pain. I work in pain. I walk in pain. I go to the gym in pain (seeing a pattern here??? lolol)
But I'm determined to not let that stop me. Even when my right hip seizes up completely while walking down 2 floors of stairs and I almost dive headfirst down 37 steps (yes, this happened on Saturday night).
It's rough and annoying, but it's my reality. And a big part of why I started this business in the first place -- I couldn't keep sitting at a desk 8+ hours a day in pain.
I needed more movement in my life, more time to stay active to keep my body as close to pain-free as I could achieve.
And it works, for the most part. And I'm grateful, for the most part.
It allows me to use what I'm going through to fuel my passion for helping other women & queer founders because I KNOOOOW what it's like to need extra hands on deck.
To need a support system. To need people to lean on to make my dreamiest of all dreams come true. And help other founders do the same.
As weird as it may sound - email marketing is the tool I chose to serve others through. Because I'm pretty d*mn good at it.

βLast week, we broke down what other types of emails you can send beside a newsletter. While I do often use it as an overarching theme for a lot of emails, it's NOT always one you'll see in DTC e-commerce brands.
Newsletters can play a roleβespecially when you're not sending 2 emails a week (yet!)βbut they aren't the only type of emails an e-commerce brand needs to send.
And before we get into the hyper-nuanced versions of different types of campaigns (those one-off sends we mentioned last week), it's important to spend time on email flows first.
If nothing else, I highly recommend e-comm brands to have the bare minimum in place:
Welcome flow
Abandoned checkout flow
Sunset flow
And if I could choose 6, it would also include:
Abandoned cart flow
Post-purchase flow
Winback flow
And if I could choose 10, it would also include:
Browse abandoned flow
Cross/Upsell flow
Replenish reminder flow
VIP/loyalty flow
With honorable mention to:
Birthday flow
Subscription push flow
I'm sure you'll nevvvvverr guess what we'll be talking about over the next few weeks? π€ͺ
Stay tuned! Because I'll be breaking down why each flow matters, what to include in each one, and sharing examples of these flows you can swipe for inspo!
But if you need your flows set up NOW because the holidays are coming...
This week we're going part-creative, part-manifestation. Because why not?
Your low-lift Creative Writing Challenge for the week:
A big part of being creative in any copy you write is letting yourself go ALL THE WAY and then scaling it back.
What I mean by this is something writing the most outlandish, "I-could-never-say-it-outloud-like-this" kind of thoughts can yield the best copy when you go through to proofread it.
It's raw, it's real, and it's not forced. It can sometimes feel like it comes to you serendipitously.
So why note blend that into this week's creative writing practice? It's something I too need to work on because as I begin building a personal brand, the question is... why?
I DON'T KNOW YET.
I know I want to get more comfortable being online and being visible because it'll open more doors and pathways to a life I am disgustingly obsessed with (hehe, sneaking in an oxymoron!)
But... that's about all I've got so far. SO, now it's both of our challenges for this week.
Set a 20-minute timer and write out your ideal life in 15 years. Get hyperspecific and use as many sensory details as you can!
What does life look like when you wake up? Do you still work? Do you do the same thing every day? What does it smell like when you walk around the house (RV or other dwelling)?
What does it feel like? Sound like? Are you alone? Do you have a partner with you? Kiddos jumping on the bed? Can you hear the ocean? Are you doing the same hobbies as now? Have you learn new ones?
Daydream, let your mind wander, and imagine what that life will look like. And if you want to take it one step further, check out WOOP method for next steps.
It feels like a 'trick' but there's another reason this is the challenge for this week... If you can guess why - reply to this email & lmk! Otherwise, I'll tell ya next week π

π Currently reading... Seven Faceless Saints is still my current read! Taking it suuuper slow (about 20 pgs/day) and I'm also re-reading Branding is Sex- one of my personal favorite business books.
πΆ Currently listening to... Wrapping up Heir of Fire! I have less than an hour left to read and I'm starting to see why so many people say TOG is slow getting into it (I disagreed at first! But am starting to see why) It's getting SO. GOOD.
π‘ Currently recommending... Take the pictures. Take the videos. Not for content (but is nice if you want the double usage!), but as a friend recently reminded me: You never know how long you have with someone, and one day, you're going to want to look back on those memories. (Yes, I'm the self-appointed photog in my friend group π€)
π Currently obsessing over...These two new weaves I learned in the past week! They're so. freaking. cute. And I am OBSESSSEDDD. π₯
That's it for now, lovely!
I'm working on a new mini site for the agency side of things to streamline the working-with-me process to make it so simple, there's no chance to overthink it.
And with that comes new posts on the agency page! We're starting with weekly subject line inspo, so if you're not already following the agency side of things on IG, you'll want to!
Catch ya on the next wave,

Edition #153 August 18th, 2026 Hey, hi, hello ππΌ This week is looking like it's gonna be a killer one. Not only do I have 2 networking events back-to-back this week, but I also have a lot of market vendor prep work to do! You read that right, Reader!!! I'll be attending a couple markets this fall season for my new chainmaille jewelry brand, Medusa's Menace. What started out as a simple (time-consuming) hobby to keep my hands off my phone has now turned into a micro product-based business. And...
Hey, hi, hello! If you haven't read last week's Email Paradise (EP), you miiiiight be a lil out of the loop (go read it!!!!). Reminder of this week's prompt in case you haven't done it yet: Write bad copy. ON PURPOSE. Write down lines that bother you or sentence structures that SCREAM, "oh you plugged that into claude, didn't you?" Anything that makes you cringe because it's so bad. For example: 1. It's not just an eye cream; it's your holy grail to remove dark circles. 2. I tried the quick...
Edition #152 August 11th, 2026 Have you been seeing all the Canva hate lately?? I'm still a bit out of the loop, but I have been seeing some posts about sneaky things they've been doing with AI lately... like removing the tag that indicates whether an image or element is AI-generated, which has me feeling some type of way π₯΄π₯΄π₯΄ Disgusted. Disappointed. Defeated. Disrespected. Deceived. Delirious. Depressed. Drained. ... okay I think that's all the negative D words I can think of that fit the...
