Hey, hi, hello 👋🏼
This week is looking like it's gonna be a killer one. Not only do I have 2 networking events back-to-back this week, but I also have a lot of market vendor prep work to do!
You read that right, Reader!!! I'll be attending a couple markets this fall season for my new chainmaille jewelry brand, Medusa's Menace.
What started out as a simple (time-consuming) hobby to keep my hands off my phone has now turned into a micro product-based business.
And I'm beyond excited, nervous, scared, thrilled, geeked, and absolutely not ready for it.
But messy action is better than no action ☝🏼 Which is why I'm starting off with wholesale and in-person markets before I start selling online.
(and you knoooowww I'll be following my own email marketing advice once I do have the e-comm branch! 😉)
Last weekwas Day 1 of Breaking Down Flows - an email-exclusive series where I tell you why each flow matters, what to include in it, and sharing swipeable examples for inspo!
We started with the most important flow you should ALWAYS have in place before any other one: Your welcome flow!
So now we're moving onto the next one: Your abandoned checkout flow!
I recommend starting with this version first (before your Abandoned Cart + Browse Abandonment flow) BECAUSE, these are your hottest potenital clients.
They made it allllll the way to the end of the buyer journey, and then something made them hesitate.
Sometimes it could be the shipping/tax fees (a money objection), sometimes the checkout process could be too long (a time objection), and sometimes, they could have simply gotten a Facetime call from their little sister with an 'emergency' (a common occurrence for me).
This flow:
Reminds them what they left behind (in a non-creepy way)
Nudges them to continue checking out by reiterating the main reasons they likely started the checkout process in the first place
Makes sure there weren't any tech glitches or lingering questions before they purchased
Provides social proof for reassurance that they are making the right decision (your potential buyers are smart! they'll know if it's right for them or not!)
Optional: provides a gentle incentive (like free shipping or a small discount or even a small GWP!)
What to include in your abandoned cart flow:
You should have ~2-3 emails in your abandoned cart flow.
The initial nudge + a dyanmic block that shows what they left behind (visual cues are important! not all ESPs have this feature! but Klaviyo does and it's sooo easy to set up)
The unique selling point reminder and/OR social proof. Something that reminds them why they love you in the first place without saying, "buy from me pls"
The final nudge. This is where if you ~want~ to include an incentive, you can! Personally, I love when these are cheeky or even acknowlege, "hey, this is the last email reminder about your XYZ products left behind"
📚 Currently reading... Rituals for Life that I bought at hello, loveyesterday and YES, if you look it up on Amazon, it's 50% off the price I bought it for. BUT I'd rather support local small businesses than give a billionaire turd face more $$$ 🤷🏼♀️ I'm only 20 pages in, so will give you a better update next week!
🎶 Currently listening to...Empire of Storms and uuuggghhh it's so good! I adore my fantasy escapes instead of doomscrolling and getting depressy reading how f*cked up this country is. But I am feeling conflicted seeing so much SJM discourse lately? I wanna look into it more to form my own decisions tho.
💡 Currently recommending... To go to local events in your area! I went to a Crystals 101 class with Emily @ Hexed & Reckless yesterday because I've always been interested but never took the time to learn more and ohmylanta. A new obsession is forming...
😍 Currently obsessing over... Can I take a cheap way out & say crystals??? Hehehe. I currently have Tiger's Eye (for focus + motivation) and Green Aventurine (to attract wealth, prosperity & luck) combined with Clear Quartz (to amplify the other two) in my pocket, and I mean... I've been way more undistractable today than most Monday's sooo, take what you will from that.
Did you notice???
The Creative Writing Challenge has been nixed for now. Which means so has the Psych Breakdown!
As much as I adoooored writing these sections the last couple of weeks, they took a LOT more time and brainpower to write. And since it seemed like there wasn't much interested in that section, it's gone for now. 🫢
I won't say forever - it might come back in the future!
But for now, we're gonna stay laser focused on email marketing flows and go from there. Sound like a plan? (:
Catch ya on the next wave,
This email was written with my own brain. No GenAI was used to brainstorm, write, or edit this. If you enjoyed it, please let me know!! This is a labor of love for me & it truly means the world when you reply.

Hey, hi, hello! If you haven't read last week's Email Paradise (EP), you miiiiight be a lil out of the loop (go read it!!!!). Reminder of this week's prompt in case you haven't done it yet: Write bad copy. ON PURPOSE. Write down lines that bother you or sentence structures that SCREAM, "oh you plugged that into claude, didn't you?" Anything that makes you cringe because it's so bad. For example: 1. It's not just an eye cream; it's your holy grail to remove dark circles. 2. I tried the quick...
Edition #152 August 11th, 2026 Have you been seeing all the Canva hate lately?? I'm still a bit out of the loop, but I have been seeing some posts about sneaky things they've been doing with AI lately... like removing the tag that indicates whether an image or element is AI-generated, which has me feeling some type of way 🥴🥴🥴 Disgusted. Disappointed. Defeated. Disrespected. Deceived. Delirious. Depressed. Drained. ... okay I think that's all the negative D words I can think of that fit the...
Hey, hi, hello! Last week I unexpectedly had to focus on my health + this breakdown wasn't scheduled because I was waiting for the link to go live and then... forgot. (oopsies). Sooo this week you'll be getting TWO psych breakdowns! If you haven't read last week's Email Paradise (EP), you miiiiight be a lil out of the loop (go read it!!!!). Reminder of this week's prompt in case you haven't done it yet: Inspo hunting!!! I try to do this weekly, and I truly do think it's half the reason I've...
